Is this a war?

After looking at and hearing alot of comments from friends and others alike, I tend to feel that there are some quarters who think or have been made to believe that this issue of the constituition is a battle between the Christians and Muslims. Who are we to fight for God who is Almighty? Can't He defend himself if He is truely God? History would want to caution us on this path whereas at the same time it should be known that it is NOT who prevails over who as far as the constituition is concerned.

The contituition is a document that will / should serve this nation for a very long time without "virakas". Nonetheless, we know that there can never a perfect document to serve all but atleast we can have an acceptable document. Richard Branson puts it well when he says, "There's a danger in letting people think that they have perfected something. When they believe they have 'nailed it', most people tend to sit back and rest their laurels while others will be working furiously to better their work!" (Daily Nation, Smart Company , Tuesday 20th April 2010, page 16). I beleive that this is because there is always room for improvement if we are genuine with one another. I think that this should make you think abit more.

The Commitee of experts have done their part and so have the members of parliament and now it is your turn. Many have argued for and against it but i have realized that people have not read this document. Many would want to ask for proof or quotations from some article while they themselves have not read it. This is a pity. I am aware that all kenyas have the constituitional right to vote ie to make up their minds, whether it is out of knowledge of ignorance but at the end of the day I believe that no kenya will / should ever say that they never knew what they did. Why? Because the knowledge is available and people can read for themselves and / or find it.

Having said this, I would like to remind all that this is not a "battle for the whits", we are looking forward to a new era, dispensation of self rule as a nation. What part will you play?
